Want to delete your Amazon account? Well, it is not as easy as it sounds.
This is because of two reasons: first that the choice of deleting the Amazon account is required to be requested to Amazon customer care and that, after deleting the Amazon account you lose access to all your accounts related to all the other Amazon services.
It is, of course, the best way if you want to remove the history of your purchases, refunds, views, etc.
Deleting your Amazon account would get all your data to be deleted permanently, and in case you again want to make an account on Amazon you will have to create a new one.
This implies that you cannot re-activate this account. Your payment accounts will be shut as soon you delete your account.

Therefore, before proceeding with the steps of deleting your Amazon account, have a look at what all you will be opting to let go with the account itself.
Now, once you are aware of the consequences of deleting your Amazon account and are ready to delete the account. Here are the steps:
- 1Start with logging in to your Amazon.com account.
- 2Have a look at the last, right side of your page, and you will find a section written 'Help'. Select that.
- 3Once you enter the help page, tap on 'Browse Help Topics' and scroll down to find an option with 'Need more help?'.
- 4Go to ‘Need more help?’ and select the ‘Contact Us’ option within this page.
- 5Now, head towards the ‘Prime or Something else’ option.
- 6You will have to scroll down to find the tab written ‘Tell Us More’.
- 7There you have to choose the ‘Login and Security’ and ‘Close My Account’ tab.
- 8You are not done yet. You are first supposed to contact the Amazon customer care team. You are required to choose among the given three options (email, phone, or chat) to choose the channel in which you want to delete your account.
- 9So, if you have selected ‘email’ to get your account deleted, in a new window that just has opened on choosing this option you have to provide reasons for why you want to delete your account. Once you send this message just sit and wait for 12 hours. This is usually the time taken by the associate at Amazon customer services to revert to your email. The associate will provide you with a detailed process to delete your account. Just follow that, and you are done.
- 10In case you have chosen 'phone' as a way to contact the Amazon service centre, there you have to enter your contact number on which you want the associate to call you. Just enter your number, and they will revert you with a call within twelve to twenty-four hours generally. When they call you, they will give you instructions to follow to delete your Amazon account.
- 11Another option to contact them is to chat with them. So if you have chosen the option to chat with them, here also you are required to fill the box with the reasons that are bothering you and for which you want to delete your account. One of the attendants from the Amazon customer service will contact you through an email where they will provide you with the instructions that you have to follow to delete your account. Here you have to be careful with the instructions given in the email and click in the link to confirm the deletion.
It does not make much difference as to what method you choose. In all of them, you have to provide your reasons to delete the account and wait for them to revert to your query.

How to delete your Amazon account?
Apart from this, if you just want some or all of your orders to not be visible to others in your list, you can manage your account by making those orders archived.
So the issue is just that your purchase history is going too long and you want to cut it short by hiding some of them, then deleting the account is not the only option you are left with. Rather you can easily archive your orders. Here’s how you can do that:
- 1Go to your account and choose the option 'Your Orders' to see what all you have ordered and what you need to archive. If you are not already logged in, log in first.
- 2There you will be given a time frame to choose which orders you want to choose.
- 3If you open any order, you will see there are seven options given to you. There scroll down to the option saying 'order archive'. In this tab, you have the privilege to archive around hundred of orders.
- 4Once you click ‘OK’, you are done.
If you want to manage your account and not to lose all the data at once, use the archive method instead of deleting it. But if you are sure about deleting just follow the above-stated steps and you are done.
